Crystalina Baumer is a soprano pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Nazareth University (Fall ‘26) where she studies with Dr. Nicholas Kilkenny. She is heavily involved in the school of music where she serves on the student advisory board and works as a tutor. Apart from necessary coursework, she has taken many classes in music education, piano, and cello. Formerly, she was the historian of Nazareth University's collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education and the American String Teachers Association, and could be found designing posters, social media advertisements, and decorating bulletin boards.

On stage, Crystalina has appeared in many semesters of the Opera Workshop and in the soprano section of the Treble Choir and Chamber Singers at Nazareth. She is eager to perform with the Nazareth University Symphony Orchestra as the first-place winner of the 2025/2026 Undergraduate Aria/Concerto Competition. She will take the Nazareth stage again as the Dew Fairy in their spring 2026 production of Hansel and Gretel. Additionally, she has been featured in recitals hosted by the Opera Foundation of Buffalo and the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center. She often appears performing publicly in singing competitions around Western New York and the United States. She wishes to extend more performances internationally, inspired by her experiences with the Nazareth Treble Choir's tour of Poland and American Music Abroad's 2023 Freedom Tour, in which she was the symphony orchestra's principal cellist and a soprano in the choir.

Aside from participating in various choral productions, she is an enthusiastic researcher. Crystalina advocates for interdisciplinary studies in music and can be found taking classes in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department along with classes required for her minors in mathematics and music history. She believes that comprehension of vocal health and music history are a necessity for curating a fully defined performance. Her cross-disciplinary research, “Calculating Chiaroscuro: The Physiology and Mathematics Behind the Desired Classical Singing Tone,” was accepted as a presentation by the Pan American Vocology Association for their “2025 Vocology Fiesta.” Currently, she is working on a research project combining studies in vocal mechanics with Western music history to be presented as a lecture recital in late 2026.

Crystalina hopes to become a prominent singer and enhance her performance skills by continuing her interdisciplinary explorations and training as an operatic soprano. She is looking to pursue graduate and further studies in either performance and vocal health or performance and musicology. In the meantime, she strives to encourage curiosity and creativity in others by working as an instructor, tutor, and a vocalist.
